Neem Oil

Neem oil is a naturally occurring insecticide extracted from the seeds of the Neem tree. It works by reducing insect feeding and functions as a repellent.  It also makes it harder for insects to grow and lay eggs.  Spraying both the pest and the plant leaves is preferred. Care should be taken to prevent inhalation of the spray. Do not spray on windy days.

Neem also has some ability to control fungal problems, most notably powdery mildew. However, its use as a fungicide should be reserved as a last resort after pruning to improve airflow has been performed.
