Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of Rose Tree Garden.  We are a large community with over 100 plots available to the residents of Delaware County.  Read the information below to see if it is a good fit for you.

Is Rose Tree Garden Right for You?

Rose Tree Garden isn’t a good fit for everyone.  Read the list below to become more familiar with what we have to offer.

  1. Demand for the gardens is quite high which means you might have to wait multiple years for a plot to become available.
  2. The garden plot size is 20 x 25 feet which large enough to grow whatever your heard desires.  To give you some perspective, this is enough area to grow 90 pepper plants, 60 tomato plants, 25 watermelon plants, or 1 gigantic record-breaking pumpkin!
  3. You must be a resident of Delaware County Pennsylvania.
  4. The growing season runs from early April to early November.  This is enables you to grow both warm and cold-season crops.
  5. You will need to supply your own fencing and trellising material (if desired), which will need to be taken down at the end of the season.
  6. The yearly fee for the garden plot is $50.  This covers the 7 month lease and access to municipal water.

Rose Tree Community Garden is filled with passionate gardeners who are more than willing to help you get your green thumb, so don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to your neighbors.  You can also contact us for help during any point in the season or to help you prepare for its start.

What is the application process?

  1. Click on the button to download the form.
  2. Print the form and fill out all of the information.  PLEASE WRITE LEGIBLY
  3. Bring the form to the Leedom House at Rose Tree Park between 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  If you cannot make it between those hours, you can leave it in the mailbox outside the office, in the office vestibule, or mail it to the address at the top of the application.
  4. You will receive an email letting you know you’ve been added to the list.
  5. You will be contacted when a plot opens up for you.  Depending on the number of people on the wait list, this may take multiple years.
