Measurement Details
- Sunlight is the current percentage of max possible sunlight hitting the ground for each day. It can be used to track sunlight disruption by clouds, dust, humidity, etc. UV is not included in this measurement.
- Weekly Rainfall can be used to determine whether or not your plot needs water. Greater than 1 inch means your plot probably has received enough rainfall and does not need supplemental watering.
- Soil Temperature is measured 4 inches down and is used as an indicator on when to plant temperature-sensitive plants.
- Soil Moisture gives an indication if the soil 4 inches down contains enough water for most established plants. Use this value in conjunction with weekly rainfall to determine if supplemental watering is necessary. The possible values are Wet, Normal, Dry, and Very Dry. Note: Your local conditions may vary depending on soil condition and supplemental watering. Plants placed in the ground within the past two weeks may need more water as their roots have not been able to grow enough to capture the water stored below the surface.
- Humidity at higher levels can increase the likelihood of plant diseases, especially on calm days. Pruning may be necessary to improve airflow through disease-prone plants.
